Line things up, like rice seedlings in a field.
Grain in ear is the season for planting grains like rice. Neat rows are calming to look at.
seedlings stand in even rows, my desk is tidy for once
Today is Boshu, grain in ear. In the traditional calendar it is the season for sowing grains with bristly ears, like rice and wheat, and for planting rice paddies.
In the fields, seedlings go in at even spacing, row after row. There is something settling about that kind of order, even just to look at.
Today is level: not lucky, not unlucky, just flat like a freshly planted field. Flat days are good for planting something. Put your desk in order, or buy a small seedling and give it a spot.
Try this today
- Line up the things on your desk
- Buy or plant one seed or seedling
- Get ready for the rainy season
