Misfortune

挙歩出雲端

高枝未可攀

昇頭看皎月

猶在黒雲間

In English

  • You step out to the edge of the clouds
  • but the high branch cannot yet be reached
  • raising your head to see the bright moon
  • you find it still among dark clouds
Meaning
The poem ends with the bright moon you look up to still caught among dark clouds. After stepping out to the edge of the clouds and finding the high branch beyond reach, it suggests letting that branch be for now and waiting for a clearer sky.
What to do today
Review one overly ambitious plan and trim it to a size you can manage.
A word from the capybara
High branches are just for looking at; the grass below is for eating.
