Small fortune

月被浮雲翳

立事自昏迷

幸乞陰公祐

何慮不開眉

In English

  • The moon is veiled by drifting clouds
  • and plans once set in motion lose their way
  • yet if you ask the unseen guardian for help
  • why fear that your brow will stay knit?
Meaning
If you ask for help from a quarter you cannot see, the poem says, there is no reason for your brow to stay knotted. When plans blur like a moon behind clouds, leaning on someone else is likely to work better than carrying it all alone.
What to do today
Talk through one thing you feel stuck on with someone you trust.
A word from the capybara
Even behind the clouds, the moon is still up there, waiting it out.

The explanations added by each temple differ. The poems and fortunes follow an Edo-period printed edition.
