Fortune

漸漸濃雲散

看看月再明

逢春華草秀

雨過竹重青

In English

  • Little by little the thick clouds scatter
  • and before your eyes the moon shines again
  • meeting spring, flowers and grasses flourish
  • after the rain, the bamboo is green once more
Meaning
The poem closes with bamboo turning greener once the rain has passed. Paired with the opening, where thick clouds thin out little by little, it reads as a gentle promise that things settle on their own if you give them time.
What to do today
Open a window and let fresh air into the room for a few minutes.
A word from the capybara
Sheltering in the bamboo grove until the rain stops was a fine idea.

The explanations added by each temple differ. The poems and fortunes follow an Edo-period printed edition.
