Fortune

修進甚功奇

労生未得時

騰身遊碧漢

方得遇高枝

In English

  • Your training advances with rare skill
  • yet your efforts have not found their time
  • you will leap up and roam the blue sky
  • and at last find a high branch to rest on
Meaning
The first half is the frustration of skill that grows while its moment does not come; the second, a leap into the blue sky and a high branch to land on. The effort is not wasted, and moving once the time arrives seems soon enough.
What to do today
Spend five minutes longer than usual on a practice or study you keep up.
A word from the capybara
High branches are out of reach, so the shade under a low one will do.

The explanations added by each temple differ. The poems and fortunes follow an Edo-period printed edition.
