Watch something float today. Ducks are ideal.

Ducks glide without hurrying. They remind you that forward motion doesn't require visible effort.

If you've ever watched ducks on a pond, you know they have a particular calm about them. They glide across the surface with an almost absurd smoothness, as if the water parts for them willingly. Underneath, their feet are paddling steadily, but from above, it looks effortless.

There's a lesson there, but it's not the hustle-culture one about hidden effort. It's simpler than that: sometimes just floating along is enough. You don't always need to be visibly striving. Quiet, steady movement counts too.

Today, if you can, find something to watch that moves slowly on water. A duck, a leaf, a paper boat in a puddle. Let your eyes follow it without purpose. That aimless watching is a kind of rest your brain rarely gets.
