No. 87

Float today. Don't paddle. Let the current carry you.

Some days, the wisest move is to stop fighting the water and just drift.

A jellyfish has no real way to swim fast. No bones, no strong muscles, barely a brain. And yet it has drifted through the oceans for hundreds of millions of years, longer than almost anything alive. Its whole strategy is to stop resisting and let the water move it.

There's a lesson in that for certain days. Days when everything you push against pushes back, when every effort to force progress just tires you out. On those days, paddling harder isn't the answer. Floating is.

So today, try to float. Don't make the big decision; let it wait. Don't fight the current of how the day is going; ride it. Do the things that come easily, and let the hard things drift by for now. Some days are not for steering. They're for trusting that you'll stay afloat, because you will. Float, don't paddle.

Try this today
