No. 91

Let the air move across your skin for a moment.

A little moving air on your skin is a quiet, free way to feel present.

We spend most of the day sealed off from the air: indoors, climate-controlled, barely noticing the atmosphere around us. But moving air on bare skin is one of the simplest sensations there is, and one of the easiest to forget exists.

So find some. Open a window and let the breeze touch your face and arms. Step outside for a minute. Turn on a fan and stand in front of it. Roll up your sleeves. Feel the air move across your skin, cool or warm, and just notice it for a few breaths.

It's a small thing, almost too small to mention. But sensation pulls you out of your head and back into the present, where the air is, where your body is. A moment of moving air can do quietly what a hundred reminders to relax cannot.
