Find the moon. The night gets a little special.
Look up. There's a free show happening above you almost every night.
When did you stop looking up at the night sky? As a kid, maybe you tracked the moon as it changed shape. Now, "night" mostly means the glow of a phone screen.
The moon, though, is still there every night. Crescent, half, full. The shape shifts a little each night, the cycle resets every month. It's the most reliably scheduled performance in the world. Free admission, rain delays excepted.
Tonight, when you step outside, find it. Note its shape, just in your head. Doing this on a few nights in a row turns evening time into something you actually notice, instead of something that just passes.
Try this today
- Find the moon next time you step outside tonight
- Describe its shape in one word
- Take one photo of the night sky
