Walk with no destination. That's the best kind.
Don't pick a place. Let your feet decide.
When we say "go for a walk," we usually attach a reason. For health. To get somewhere. But the best walks are the ones with no destination at all.
Don't decide how long. Don't decide where. Turn the corner that looks interesting. Peek into a shop if it catches your eye. Sit on a random bench when your legs say so. That's the whole walk. And somehow, by the end, your head feels lighter.
This is closer to how a dog takes a walk. No destination, just smells, just curiosity, totally satisfied at the end. Today, let the dog inside you out for a bit. Put your shoes on, step through the door, and let your feet take the lead.
Try this today
- Walk outside for ten minutes with no destination
- Turn down one street you've never tried
- Try to identify five different sounds while walking
