No. 55

Today is heavy. Let yourself sigh.

A sigh isn't giving up. It's your body releasing what it's been holding too tightly.

Some days arrive already heavy. You open your eyes and the weight is there before you even remember why. Everything feels like it takes twice the effort, and the list of things you should be doing presses down on you like a hand on your chest.

On days like this, sighing is not weakness. It's your body's built-in pressure valve. A long, slow exhale that says: I'm carrying a lot right now, and I need to let some of it go, even just the air in my lungs. So sigh. Loudly, if you want. Nobody is grading your composure.

You don't have to fix today. You don't have to understand it or push through it with a smile. Just get through it one hour at a time, one sigh at a time. Tomorrow will be a different shape. For now, breathe out.

Try this today

  • Take one enormous sigh right now, as loud and long as you want
  • Lower your expectations for today by half, seriously
  • Do one kind thing for yourself before bed, even if it's just lying down early
