Wrap yourself up and stay there a while.

Wrapping up in something soft isn't hiding. It's a real way to recover.

There's a particular comfort in being wrapped up. A blanket around your shoulders, a heavy throw over your legs, a hood pulled up. Even when it isn't cold, the soft pressure and the small enclosed space make the world feel a little safer, a little more manageable.

We sometimes treat this urge as childish, or as hiding from things we should be facing. It isn't. Wrapping up is a genuine way to recover. The body reads the warmth and the gentle weight as a signal: you're safe now, you can stand down.

So today, at some point, wrap yourself up and stay there for a while. A blanket, a big sweater, whatever you have. Five minutes or twenty. While you're wrapped up, you don't have to think about anything or be anything. That small cocoon is doing real work. Let it.
